Love everything, because everything has something to love.
I’m just a girl who likes to make things with her hands! I am Maddie Wangrow, 21, and living in St. Louis with my amazing parents. For the past few months I’ve been working at a major craft supply retailer, a huge source of inspiration. I don’t appreciate being cold, and I appreciate my boyfriend, Graham, more than is appropriate. My cats and dogs are so much more adorable than anyone else’s will ever be, but I’ll snuggle on any animal just as hard as I would on my own. I strive to watch life through a pair of spectacles with tie-dye lenses.
I started this blog as a way to keep myself on track. I have real trouble telling myself and everyone else that I’m going to do something, and then never end up doing whatever it was that I planned on doing. Websites like Pinterest and Craftgawker were huge driving factors as well. Sure, I could spend hours a day looking at things to make, collecting ideas and inspiration. Dreams of clothing and housewares and food and decorations that could be. Or I could spend that time actually, you know…. MAKING all these wonderful things.
So I vow to work on a creation every day, every single day, for the entire duration of 2013. Every gift I give will be handmade. Every new piece of clothing will be made from scratch, or upcycled from something bought secondhand. I want to learn so many new things. I want to do things over and over again until I can do them perfectly.
I will make no excuses. My day does not end until my craft project and blog post are finished, no matter how long ago the clock ticked midnight. And this is the place where I plan to share everything. Every project, whether it be my proudest accomplishment or the single most horrendous abomination I’ve ever created, will be posted here, just as much for me as it is for you.
